Understanding the way you walk
Gait Analysis Lab
Dr. RK's Gait Analysis Lab helps people of all ages and abilities improve their walking style, reduce their risk of injury and even improve their performance. We use state-of-the-art technology to assess your gait and design custom-made footwear that meets your individual needs.
Dr. RK's Gait Analysis Lab uses a three-step foot pressure-sensitive walkway with 12288 sensors. Imported from France, this walkway precisely records static, dynamic, and postural pressure evaluation.
The Lab also uses a very innovative and advanced system for the movement analysis and functional assessment of patients (Video Gait analysis). This system from Italy uses infrared beams to record all aspects of the gait cycle to determine the extent of the effectiveness of any treatment.
How does it work?
Diagnosing foot and ankle conditions
Gait analysis can help to diagnose a variety of foot and ankle conditions, such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, shin splints, hammertoes, bunions, ankle sprains, flat feet, high arches, and diabetes-related foot problems.
Developing treatment plans
Once the gait analysis has identified the specific abnormalities in your gait, your doctor or physical therapist can develop a treatment plan to address them. This may involve using orthotics, physical therapy, or other treatments to correct any biomechanical problems in your gait.
Tracking progress over time
Gait analysis can track your progress over time and ensure that your treatment is working. This is especially important for people with chronic foot and ankle conditions.
Improving athletic performance
Gait analysis can also identify and correct any inefficiencies in your gait that may affect your athletic performance. This can help you to run faster, jump higher, and reduce your risk of injury
